Building Salute inserts = for large=20 shells!

 

=20 Well we begin by = obtaining some=20 high quality convolute tubes with at least an 1/8" wall. These above are = 3"=20 tubes with a 3/4" ID they are great for inserts. These tubes can also be = used=20 for making other types of inserts as well such as hummers=20 etc.

 

= Next you take=20 your tubes, and place them on a piece of tin foil. The tin foil is = important=20 because it allows your inserts to freely peel off of the foil with ease. = Then=20 with a low temp gun fill each tube with about a 1/4" of hot glue. This = will=20 serve as one end plug. After you have filled each tube and the glue is = just=20 about to get stiff, place the tubes in the freezer for about 5 minutes.=20

 

= When taken out=20 of the freezer the tubes will simply fall off of the foil like magic. = Then I=20 usually take 2 squares of toilet paper and ball it up and smash it into = the open=20 end of the inserts and ram it down with a wood = rammer.

 

= Next making=20 sure you are properly grounded and you are fully prepped for working = with flash,=20 you simply need a funnel setup similar to the one above and you fill the = salute=20 inserts with flash to about 1/2" from top. Remember flash settles nicely = and=20 these tubes will hold alot of flash.

 

= Then with=20 another 2 squares of toilet paper I plug the end of the insert and = carefully ram=20 the tp plug down to where there still is a 1/4" of space remaing in the = end of=20 the tube.

 

= And then the=20 remaining 1/4" is filled with low temp hot glue. Once the glue is hard = and cool=20 you simply need to fuse the inserts (preferrably with a visco fuse) with = appropiate lengths to the effect desired. These inserts make excellent = salute=20 reports when high in the sky and with a bunch its even=20 better!
